On Dec. 8, Lexington residents will vote on the debt exclusion to fund the new Lexington High School. Although the high school building project is well underway and continuing to move forward, this town-wide debt exclusion vote is the most critical step in the process.
Vote YES on Dec. 8 to support the new Lexington High School!
Based on the current schedule, the new high school is expected to open in 2029—meaning today’s preschoolers will attend a brand new school - if we all come out and VOTE YES.
For more information, visit yes4lex.org.
Find your voting location.
Last day to request a ballot by mail: Monday, Dec. 1 at 5pm.
What is a debt exclusion?
A debt exclusion is a way for the town to raise funds to pay for a specific capital project that will be financed by borrowing. It allows the town to temporarily increase property tax revenue beyond a limit set by state statute (known as the levy limit), to pay the annual debt service costs on the borrowing for the project. A debt exclusion requires a town-wide vote and must be approved (vote of YES) by a majority of voters.
