Volunteer at the Consignment Sale for Exclusive Pre-Sale Shopping Rights!.
Benefits of Volunteering at the LexFUN! Consignment Sale
-
By volunteering for just 2.5 hours*, you will be eligible to shop the Volunteer Sale that happens before our doors open to the public at 10 AM. The best selection is available at the beginning of the sale, and you’ll be one of the first to shop our incredible selection!
-
Anyone can register as a volunteer with our sale – moms, dads, grandparents, and friends are all welcome! You don’t have to sell with us to volunteer at our sale. Additionally, high school students can earn most of their required community service hours by volunteering for this event. Please reach out to lexfunconsignmentsale@gmail.com for more information.
-
We will have an area set up for volunteers with FREE snacks and drinks for them to grab during their shift.
-
We provide on-site training. No prior experience is necessary.
*Please
note that if you volunteer for the Volunteer Only Sale shift, you will not be
able to shop during the Volunteer Sale time. Volunteers will not be able to shop
during their designated volunteer shift but are welcome to shop before and after their shift. We depend on our volunteers to make our sale successful and need their help during their specified shift time.
How Do I Register as a Volunteer?
Our sale runs on 100% volunteer power! Volunteer registration and shift management take place within My Consignment Manager at www.myconsignmentmanager.com/lexfun. Previous volunteers and sellers should login to the same user account to volunteer for this event. New users should "Create a User Account" and follow the prompts from there.
-
Within your account, you will select the “Volunteer” tab to view and choose your shifts. The system will hide shifts that have already been filled by other volunteers.
-
Volunteer shifts are scheduled for 2.5 hours, and volunteers can select more than one shift if interested. If all volunteer spots have been filled, please email lexfunconsignmentsale@gmail.com and we will place you on a waitlist.
-
If you are volunteering for the opportunity to shop but don't have items to sell, that's great! Just follow the registration link, login to your previously created account, and go to the "Volunteer" tab. If you're new, you should "Create a User Account" with us. You will have the option to "Volunteer Only".
-
Come ready to shop, lend a hand, and have fun!
What's Involved in Volunteering?
Previous volunteers have told us that they were surprised at how fast the time passes during their volunteer shift. It’s also a great way to meet other caregivers and members of the community. We strive to offer an incredible experience for all of our fantastic volunteers. We have many volunteer opportunities that include:
-
Set Up of Event: Help set up our sales floor at Lexington High School. This includes setting up racks, tables and shelves needed for the sale. IMPORTANT NOTE: This volunteer shift includes heavy lifting and physical activity.
-
Organizing the Sales Floor at Seller Drop-Off: Helping sellers with shelving of items. Sorting and placing items in the correct places on the sales floor. Making areas clean and orderly to offer our shoppers a great experience.
-
Day-Of Event Help on Sales Floor: Placing items back on the sales floor as shoppers sort through items. Keeping areas clean and orderly. Assisting shoppers after check-out.
-
Check Out: Working on the computer/register to scan and bag all items being purchased. Process payments.
-
Carry Out Helpers: Lift and carry large/oversized items from sales floor to sold area. Lift and carry shopping bags or large items to a shopper’s car once items are paid for.
- Clean Up/Breakdown: Break down racks, tables, and shelves to be returned to our storage unit and/or the rental company. Clear all items from the sales floor.
