LexFUN! Parents Blog

With the current health crisis and cancellation of events and programming, we need to keep connected more than ever. We have created this parent blog to share ideas of how to keep our little ones entertained, keep the grown-ups sane and share support!

Members can read and comment on posts and non-members can only read the posts.

Please share your ideas for things to do at home with preschoolers and toddlers.

There are only a few basic things you really need to make a sensory bin! Everything else will be extra depending on whether or not you have chosen a theme for your sensory bin! Some people enjoy making sensory bins to elaborate on a favorite book, we have a few book and sensory bin ideas here.

    Music continues...

Despite the fact that so many of us are now self-isolating, we have two exciting ways (with more to come) children can continue to enjoy music:

    1. Facebook Live JamBABY classes at 10 AM
Monday through Friday, for the next two weeks (at least!)
Ideal for kids 6 months to 6.5 years old!

2Our teachers are now ready to offer online lessons.
If you are currently registered for lessons, we encourage you to switch to our online model. Even if you are hesitant, give it a try!  Many local schools are moving to an online learning model so students will quickly feel comfortable with online music lessons. On the other hand, canceling will not only halt any progress but students will also begin to regress and lose interest. During this uncertain time, we think it is wonderful to offer kids an outlet of creativity, that includes the pursuit of improvement and a focus of energy.

If your child (or you) does not currently take lessons, now is a great time to try (or re-start).  Dust off the drums, find the guitar, clear off the piano bench and give us a call. Our teachers are prepared to offer engaging and successful online lessons.
